Drive-in movies are as retro as can be but have you ever been to a float-in cinema before? If not, it’s time to set sail for Merchant Square in Paddington and the Openaire Float-In Cinema By Häagen-Dazs.
The adventure begins when you board your ride from GoBoat London, an electric boat kitted out with a picnic table, bunting and cushions for extra comfort.
You then set sail for a quick trip around the canal at Paddington Basin and to spot ducks in Little Venice, one of London’s prettiest hidden gems.
It’s then time to moor up at Merchant Square for the movie and there’s sure to be something for everyone with a whole season of films including water based flicks like Titanic and The Life Of Pi.
If you get peckish, you can order popcorn and Häagen-Dazs ice cream straight to your boat via an app and award-winning chef RaviOllie will be setting up a pop-up kitchen serving artisan pasta.
You can hire a boat for 6, 7 or 8 people and don’t worry if you can’t swim, landlubbers can recline dockside in comfy deckchairs.
You can find out which movies are playing and book your boat (or deckchair) at the Openaire Website.
