Fin DAC: Afterglow/Undertow - VIP Private View

on October 23, 2021

Famous for his street murals around the world, Fin DAC brings his first solo exhibition in six years to London with Afterglow/Undertow at Gallery Different in Fitzrovia.

12 months of studio work combined wit six years of street work in the making, the show features murals, sculptures, sketches and other work.

Hailing from Cork in Ireland, Fin DAC fell into the world of street art at the age of 40, creating gorgeous portraits with the aim to "rewrite stereotypes of women and Asian people".

The VIP Private View gave collectors and fans a chance to see the show before it opens to the public, meet the artist and purchase work.

Guests could also enjoy cocktails made with Fin DAC's collaboration with INKD and CÎROC vodka, with 1000 limited edition bottles featuring his artwork.

One of Fin's most famous pieces is a 200ft mural of Frida Kahlo in Guadalajara, Mexico.

This beautiful portrait, along with others, has been reimagined using flowers and foliage to create stunning 3D murals.

Downstairs in the gallery featured works from the Undertow collection, lit with neon lights.

These works feature Fin DAC portraits in inverted colours, giving a whole new look to his work.

One of the most stunning features of the collection are the Killer Instinct sculptures created of muse Meghna Lall in collaboration with Calvin Gomes.

"Awe-inspiring. This was THE urban exhibition of the year, Findac is an artist you don’t want to ever miss out on." - Danyell Megan Cottage

Running until Sunday 31st October 2021, see the show for yourself at Gallery Different in Fitzrovia.
